Place
Modinagar is a town in Ghaziabad district, on the Delhi–Meerut road, in the National Capital Region. It takes its name from the industrial house of Rai Bahadur Gujarmal Modi. The school is not in the bazaar of the town. It stands at Village Dausa, on Kajampur Road, in Modinagar tehsil. Kajampur and Dausa Banjarpur are neighbouring villages. The pin code is 201204.
The nearest railway station for the town is Modinagar (MDNR), on the Delhi–Meerut line. Call the office before you set out, so someone is there to receive you.
The name
Vedic Sanskriti: knowledge with a root, and the culture that root is meant to grow. In Hindi the school is वैदिक संस्कृति विद्यालय. The crest is a shield. Inside it, a sun rises over an open book held in sheaves of grain. Laurel stands at either side. A red ribbon underneath carries the motto.
The prayer
The ribbon quotes the middle line of a prayer in the Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad, 1.3.28. The whole prayer is three wishes. The school has chosen the second.

The line in the middle — tamaso mā jyotirgamaya — is the one painted on the crest. It is a direction for study, not a decoration.
