The Board
Vedic Sanskriti School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The affiliation number published for it is 2134494. The level published for it is senior secondary. In plain words, the Board sets the syllabus and conducts the Class X and Class XII examinations, and a senior secondary affiliation is recognition up to Class XII.
A CBSE school teaches languages, mathematics, science and social science, and, at the senior secondary stage, the stream a student is placed in. Art, health and physical education sit beside the scholastic subjects. Which of these the school is running this session — and in which medium — is written in the office register, not assumed here.
The other half of the name
The school is not only a board school. It is called Vedic Sanskriti. The crest asks for light. Sanskrit, conduct, and the observances of the Hindu calendar belong to that name. A Navratri greeting once went out in the school’s name, from this same address and these same telephone numbers. That is a trace of the life of the place. It is not a syllabus, and it is not repeated here as a promise.
Ask the office these
- Which grades are open for admission in this session, and in the next.
- Which streams and subjects are taught in Class XI and Class XII.
- The medium of instruction.
- The school hours, and the uniform for ordinary days.
- The fee for the session, in writing, with a receipt.
The photograph at Rashtrapati Bhavan shows what the students wore that day: a light blue shirt, a striped tie, grey trousers or a grey skirt, black shoes, and a white cap. Treat that as the dress of the occasion until the office confirms the everyday uniform.
